When you keep your eyes open walking the streets of New York City, you will be rewarded. Yesterday, I saw this:
“Please help me find my lost African Grey Parrot, Zoe. She escaped from her pet carrier at the intersection of East 47th Street and 2nd Avenue…Reward offered for her safe return. No questions asked.”
Like what questions would be asked? The bird flew away to its freedom. If anything, that owner has some answering to do, pure and simple. Run, Zoe, run. Be free. Go to your people. But I do like to imagine what she got up to. When she’s finally returned to her owner she’s all like, “I flew higher than the tree tops and ate the finest berries from trees not seen in this land. I went to the Turks and Caicos and got cray with some locals drinking their homemade rum. I’ve seen the world, no cage can contain me. Let me be free! Let me soar! Let me eat cake!”
