Sometimes, in New York, when every thing starts to look grey and spat upon, you come across these beautiful flower stalls. They are usually part of a busted mini-mart, but they can have the most glorious flowers, plants and exotic plants. I saw these orchids at one of these establishments in the Lower East Side and it was so – uplifting. Which really reminds me, I need to get some more plants for my apartment. The last orchid I bought is now a mere shadow of its former self. Maybe I could be like that couple in ‘The Orchid Thief’ who live in some tricked out Fifth Avenue apartment with all of their exotic orchids. They never vacation together because one of them always has to tend to their orchidaceae. Incredible. True. And only in New York.
